This year, we were able to send 307 care packages  and 14 trees to our troops overseas.

With your support, we hope to beat that number next year.

Meet The VTSOT Team

Dorcas Lee (St. Johnsbury)

Dorcas created the Vermont Supports Our Troops Project in 2004, as a way to send the troops involved in the second Operation: Desert Storm, including her son (1st Calvary Division), a holiday away from home.  The project has grown significantly since then, but the focus remains the same: to remind our troops that they are remembered, appreciated, and missed, here in Vermont.

Nicquelle Fortin (Barnet)

Nicquelle became involved in the project in 2009, after the death of her husband 2nd Lt. Joseph D. Fortin.   She quickly assumed a leadership role, and began to formulate plans for growth.  Under her tireless administration, the project has grown to its current state, with the goal of sending over 400 care packages at this year's event.

Shawn Timson (Concord)

Shawn is the owner of Horizons Market and Deli in St Johnsbury.  He has thrown the weight of his business into supporting the project in advertising, advocacy, and donations of labor, goods, and funds.

Greg Schoppe (St. Johnsbury)

Greg joined the project in 2010 in a background role, managing the online and social media presence for the project, and providing artistic collateral.
